How Can I Help Financially?
Anyone can continue to give toward the $5,000 balance needed to start the second orphanage. Designate your gifts as "Momentum Orphanage #2" and send CE National, PO Box 365, Winona Lake, IN 46590.
The $94,000 offerings given at Momentum 2008 are helping to support the following
- $12,000 to Urban Hope roof project (CE National's inner-city ministry in Philadelphia, PA).
- $15,000 for Feed My Starving Children (food supplies for the 100,000 meals that were packed on Saturday at Momentum to be delivered to Haiti or Nicaragua).
- $12,000 for We Care Dayton outreach (for the groceries supplied by Convoy of Hope and the supplies distributed on Saturday at Momentum in inner-city Dayton.
- $30,000 for a Momentum Orphanage (in Cambodia) started by the Momentum offering – a partnership with Asia?s Hope.
- $25,000 toward the start of a 2nd Momentum Orphanage (in Thailand) started by the Momentum Offering. (we are $5,000 short of starting this 2nd orphanage).
The $30,000 for each orphanage helps with the following for one year:
- The cost of starting up and completely financing an orphan home for 20 students Start up costs go toward beds, silverware, plates, mosquito nets, rice cookers, initial clothes, shoes, and other things for the children. The children come to the orphanage with literally nothing.
- The $2,000 per month operating costs pays for their food, clothing, education and all orphan home costs (rent, teacher salaries, etc.)
What happens after one year?
- Momentum/CE National has committed to the initial year of start-up and operating costs as listed above. The initial $30,000 helps to support an orphanage thru August 31, 2009.
- Momentum/CE National will be encouraging local youth groups/local churches to consider an ongoing ministry relationship with the orphanages beyond the initial first year. Local youth groups/churches may consider supporting one month (a $2,000 commitment) or any multiple number of months. Details of how a church may participate in this manner will be given at a later time.
- If more than $5,000 is given toward the balance needed to start the 2nd orphanage, it will go toward the monthly operating costs starting in September 2009.
